Manual Therapy, Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

Jonathan Sage

Integrative Manual Therapy & Traditional Chinese Medicine

For over 28 years I have been helping people improve their health through a holistic, hands-on approach to pain relief, movement and wellbeing.

My practice has evolved by combining the detailed anatomical knowledge gained through my original education in osteopathic medicine with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This integrated approach allows me to tailor treatment to each individual using manual therapy, acupuncture, laser acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion and photobiomodulation (low-level laser therapy).

Whether you are experiencing back or neck pain, joint problems, sports injuries, persistent muscular tension or long-standing health concerns, treatment is designed around your individual needs rather than a single therapeutic approach.

Professional Background

Before entering healthcare, I spent ten years serving as a firefighter. In 1998 I graduated from the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy with a BSc (Hons) in Osteopathic Medicine together with diplomas in Osteopathy and Naturopathy.

Over the past three decades I have continued to expand my clinical knowledge through postgraduate education in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture, laser acupuncture, cupping therapy, moxibustion, clinical ergonomics, rehabilitation, core stability training and photobiomodulation.

I have also undertaken postgraduate training in equine and canine manual therapy, lectured in anatomy at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine for eight years, and travelled throughout Europe providing musculoskeletal support to the British Kayak and Canoe Marathon Team.

An Integrated Approach

Health is rarely one-dimensional. By combining the strengths of manual therapy with Traditional Chinese Medicine, I aim to address not only symptoms but the factors contributing to them.

Many patients also appreciate having options. For those who are uncomfortable with needles, laser acupuncture provides a gentle alternative while still applying Traditional Chinese Medicine principles.

My goal is simple: to help you move more freely, experience less pain and support your long-term health using the therapies best suited to your individual circumstances.
